Selinunte

45 km from Trapani we meet Selinunte: it is one of the largest and most important archaeological parks in the Mediterranean due to its extraordinary wealth of remains. Selinunte was for a long time allied to Carthage and rival of Segesta, and his past saw many wars. The area of the park can be divided into three zones: the area of the three great temples; the Acropolis, a sacred place with temples and shrines; the Cave of Cusa, the area from which the blocks used to rebuild the temples were excavated.

The remains appear settled in the green countryside that slopes down to the blue of the sea. It is fascinating the moment of sunset when everything is covered with intense golden light. The Marinella area along the coast offers unique natural spectacles, with sandy and unspoiled beaches and a seductive sea.
